When Craziness Reigns
When things seem the craziest I am most convinced of divine purposes being at work. Now crazy is different than chaotic or confusing or controversial. Crazy is when you know amazing things are happening but not quite the way you envisioned. In fact NOTHING like you envisioned.
Crazy like when you you get e-mails that seem to say, don't come since we have no one ready to help and yet you know that your non-refundable tickets are going to carry you to arrive in Nairobi on Jan 13th regardless.
Crazy like no certainty if anyone will be there to greet you at the airport and yet you've already had a Kenyan architect in your home for dinner with the ministry team and he is eager for you to meet his family who just happen to own a printing business in Nairobi.
Crazy like not knowing where and how God is going to provide the funds and yet a little country church on a hill in the middle of nowhere Alberta gives $400 in a special offering or a small US town church in northern Montana gives $1000 to help us pioneer this new sports mininstry.
Sometimes I think that crazy is the post-modern word for how Paul described himself: "We are fools for Christ..." I Corinthians 4:10a.
In a crazy world, is it possible that we are called to live a 'crazy life' so that the power of God might be demonstrated? "For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.: I Corinthians 1:25
